Single Game Tickets on Sale Today: Here they come, and there they go.

Today, the WVU ticket office released single game tickets for the general public. Unfortunately, there were a very limited number of tickets and they were only available for two games: ECU and UCONN. This was expected to a certain degree. Hell, I was even surprised they had these. Never in my wildest dreams did I think they would sell this fast… for these teams… and for the new “nationally ranked” face value price.
I needed tickets for the September, 22 home game against the Butt Pirates of ECU. No problem, I thought, I’ll just call up and buy some tickets. Well, it wasn’t quite that easy. I think I totally underestimated the power of fair-weather fans and major national attention on ticket sales.
I knew from past experience that the first day tickets go on sale, it’s kind of hard to get through to the ticket office. So, I started calling the at 9:29am on the nose. I wanted to make sure we got these tickets, all 8 of them. I even had my mother in Beckley, WV calling. Between the two of us we had 4 phones.
BUSY BUSY BUSY
It took me 2 hours of constant calling to finally get someone on the phone. Luckily they still had tickets left for the ECU game, but they only let me buy 4 tickets on my account. So to get the other 4 my mom had to get through or I had to get through with another credit card # and account. Three hours later she finally gets through and they are SOLD OUT!
All I can say is “wow”. I’ve never seen WVU Football tickets go this fast. They are more expensive than ever @ $45/each, but that didn’t stop people from jumping all over these scrub game tickets.
So we have 4 out of 8. Not bad considering the demand this year.
Anyone got 4 tickets together? Email me.
