Scouts.com jackass talks smack on WVU

So this jackass from Scouts.com called the Mark Madden show yesterday to talk college football. Mark, who isn’t the biggest WVU fan, asked this guy some quick questions about the Mounties and the Big East. I don’t always agree with Mark Madden but the show is entertaining and he’s always pissing off the Steeler fans, and how can that not be funny.
I can’t remember the name of the guy he was interviewing yesterday (I’ll refer to him as JA)but the topic of the Eers came up and Mark asked him how he thought the Eers would do this year and if they could get to the National Championship game.
JA said something that has been a problem for us for years. Our schedule is too weak to warrant a trip to the big game, even if we go 12-0. He said that any other top ranked team with one loss could very well get this top spot because of strength of schedule. Now I agree, we need to play a tougher non-conference schedule, but come on. You can’t tell me that USC’s schedule is any tougher than ours. They are currently only playing 3 top 25 teams. The 12th ranked Cal is their hardest game of the year (pre-season).
We have to get by a tough #10 Louisville. I just don’t get it. The Pac-10 isn’t better than the Big East. So the question is, how do we kick this rep?

Until the sportswriters wake up from their Big 10 and SEC induced comas, Big East teams will continue to struggle with national recognition and respect. The tide started shifting after last year’s performances by WVU, Louisville, and Rutgers…as well as the Big East going 5-0 in bowl games. The Big East is easily one of the top three conferences this year.
WVU’s schedule this year is the best its been in quite some time. It’s not great, but we can’t control the performance of other teams…Syracuse, Pitt, Mississippi St…who have been competitive in the past.
Our schedule could be worse, we could be playing three teams ranked in the bottom five of 119 Division I teams like our neighbors to the North in Happy Valley…that’s right…big, bad Penn State plays Florida International, Buffalo, and Temple this year! I can understand playing one door mat, but THREE…come on.
But you don’t hear the likes of Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, et.al. talking about that do ya!

It’s all about the prestige they had but their losing it and we’re getting very slowly, which if we were to play them and win 500 to nothing we might get talked about for three days, but if it was reversed they would talk about it for weeks to come. They will see when the HEISMAN comes from the “BIG EAST”,Especially from WVU!! They can all go to @#$% then!!!!
