Recruiting Update

I was just checking the BlueGold news commit list and Ternence Kerns and Josh Jenkins signed their LOI. It’s about freakin time.
I reported the other day that Kerns was struggling with his grades but I guess he’s gotten the “wink” that he is doing well enough to get the “C” he needs to come up to Motown. Of course, Rivals has him still listed as unsigned. I wish these two sites could agree once in a while. I tend to lean in the direction of Scouts.com over Rivals, they keep things more up-to-date.
So the rankings look they will level off like this:
Scout.com has WVU is #37 and Rivals has us at #43. In the Big East, Scout and Rivals has us at #2 with 25 commits and the only unsigned is Benji Kemoeatu from Hawaii.
Also, found this cool quote from a story about JJ Dorsey:
“I don’t think either one of those guys was infatuated with the head coach as much as they were with the atmosphere and the players,” said Handley assistant coach Ben Swartz, who accompanied Dorsey on his visit to WVU. “He didn’t want to go anywhere. I told him he could take more visits, but he didn’t want to go anywhere else. He loved it.”

Hey MountaineerBob…. I sent a email to Wes Nakama who is a columnist for the Honolulu Advertiser asking him about Benji Kemoeatu and his status with his commit to WVU and hopefully I get a response sometime today. I’m tickled to death this kid wants to come here and I hope it opens the pipeline for more students in Hawaii to consider WVU as a place to learn and play whatever sport they’re interested in. Keep you posted!
