Recent Developments & Rumors

Bill Stewart WILL coach the team in the Fiesta Bowl.
It feel this is the only option really. Stewart will keep the kids focused and might surprise a few of us. Good Luck Interim Coach. Go beat the Sooners!
Coach Rod did reconsider.. temporarily.
Rumor is the door was Reopened for Rich, probably from pressure by the donors and Rich chose not go walk through it. The relationship between the AD and RR was so bad by this point I don’t think there was any chance of reconciliation, only time would have healed this and there was just not time. Sad.
Top Coaches in consideration:
- Doc Holliday
- Rick Trickett
- Terry Bowden
- Bud Foster
Rumor has it Doc is the top choice right now but nothing is solid. Actually, sounds like Doc & Trickett are going to be coming back to Morgantown. This is still developing.
WVU Athletic Program to lose a lot of $$ from donors.
Saw this coming, but I ask this: Are you a true Mountaineer fan if you just give the program money because of the coach? or do you donate because you love the team?
More to come…

they are not pulling THEIR money and donations because they supported a coach.. they supported an athletic department… with that being said if you put money somewhere and things turn out for the worst… wouldnt you bail out too? at least until some changes were made?

true, i would also say that taking money away from the school is also taking away money from the students.

The AD’s office has always taken a half assed approach and won’t commit to doing whatever it takes(legally of course) to become a consistent winner. That’s why. I donate a lot of cash myself and I’m pulling until a change is made from the top down.

It doesn’t seem to me that Don Nehlen should get “the most loyal Mountaineer” award either.
He obviously encouraged Rod that “there is only one Michigan.”
You guys who pay him to be “A FRIEND OF COAL” might want to reconsider that deal.
