Enough time has passed, the wounds have healed, we have a Fiesta Bowl victory, we have one of the best coaching staffs in NCAA football, and we’ve moved on, so I’m officially lifting the moratorium on Rich Rodriguez. Now he can only embarrass himself and Michigan.
- Here is a good article from the Sporting News that sums up how we all feel about the RR situation.
- On that note, here is an interesting thing that happened to me today. I was just at a meeting at a large corporate bank today and saw the best thing written on their whiteboard (It put a smile on my face and makes me hope I can spend more time with these wise folks).
There was a picture of Rich Fraud with a question similar to this: How long will Rich last at Michigan? Under the picture and question was about 10 answers: 1 year, 3 years, 8 months, 3 years, 2 years, 2 years, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, etc.
They must be doing some sort of office pool. It’s great to see that even in the city that is home to our nemisis, Pittsburgh, most people don’t think he will last at Michigan longer than 2 or 3 years. I would like to add my answer to the pool:
- 1.5 years: After losing to OU 2 years in a row, he’s gone.
- Today on Rivals Radio MU fans were cutting him up about his recruiting tactics, and it seems ESPN has finally seen the light and is turning on their love child Richy Rod. I can’t wait to sit back and enjoy watching Michigan loose to the likes of Penn State, Ohio State, Miami (OH), Utah, Toledo, Wisconsin, Notre Dame.. and watch the ESPN commentators squirm in their seats as they try to spin Michigans collapse.
- But, of course, there is always the few who refuse to admit that WVU and the Big East are a better conference than the Big Ten. Pete Fiutak over at Fox Sports is still cutting us up. If you have 2 minutes of your life to waste READ HERE. He has a poll that goes with this article so I guess it’s worth clicking on to vote Big Easat. To me, it’s obvious the Big East is a better conference. I guess we’ll just have to prove it AGAIN this year (oh well, makes for a fun season of blogging).
- Here is an interesting article about the recruting tactics RR has used this year. We might see some of this come back and bite MU in the butt?
- The depositions are flying left and right. Read about it here.
- Rod offered help to accused WVU fundraiser. Interesting. Very interesting. I particularly like the calling out of RR:
Aschebrook’s attorney, Dean Hartley of Wheeling, said Thursday he would like to see Rodriguez publicly clear his client’s name.
“Sure. I mean, if Rich and Calvin were interested in hiring Larry at Michigan, the allegation that Larry is a racist has no basis in fact, does it?” Hartley said. “Why would an individual who has alleged that another individual is racist want to work with that person?”
- Here, Dave Hickman explains why this Aschebrook is good for WVU in this lawsuit.
