JWilson’s Power Rankings Week 9
By John Wilson on Oct 29, 2007 in Football
I’m very excited about my new formula, it takes several more factors in to consideration, and does a better job judging strength of schedule. Let me know what you think.
| Power Ranking | Team | Average | BCS Ranking |
| 1 | Boston College | 15.5 | 2 |
| 2 | Ohio State | 15.33 | 1 |
| 3 | Arizona State | 15 | 4 |
| 4 | Kansas | 14.63 | 8 |
| 5 | LSU | 14.13 | 3 |
| 6 | Oregon | 13.63 | 5 |
| 7 | Missouri | 13.25 | 9 |
| 8 | WVU | 13.13 | 7 |
| 9 | Oklahoma | 13 | 6 |
| 10 | UConn | 12.5 | 13 |
| 11 | Michigan | 12.33 | 12 |
| 12 | Hawaii | 12 | 14 |
| 13 | Georgia | 11.625 | 10 |
| 14 | Virginia Tech | 10.88 | 11 |
| 15 | Texas | 10.78 | 15 |
| 16 | Auburn | 10.44 | 16 |
Left off of the BCS top 16 that would have made my top 16: Virginia (12.13), South Florida (11.75)

So, another decisive win by WVU, over a ranked, conference foe on the road, and yet we drop in the polls. Its, what, five out of nine weeks that WVU has lost positions in the polls? What gives? I guess the sports writers just can’t help themselves when it comes to voting for a Big East team.
Here is a breakdown of Teams by Conference in the Top 15 of this week’s BCS…a little interesting.
ACC - 2
Big 10 - 2
Big 12 - 4
Big East - 2
Pac 10 - 2
SEC - 2
WAC - 1
Seriously, four Big 12 teams in the Top 15? I’ll give them Oklahoma and Kansas, maybe even Mizzou…but Texas. What do y’all think?

Mangino hungry. Where’s Pat White? I’m in the mood for some tasty ribs.
