I’m Your Huckleberry

Rumor: WVU’s new head coach will be John “Doc” Holliday according to the very reliable sources over at BGN.

I’m not sure this is the best choice but I’ll give him the benefit doubt and as always I’ll support my team. Apparently we got him 1/2 off what we were paying coach Rod. It seems the AD just jumped on this guy. I know he has a lot of history and is very well liked (in certain circles) but I would have liked to have seen a little more progressive and aggressive hiring here.

Welcome coach Holliday and LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!

This is as reliable as the Saban reports. Considering that Garrison and Pastilong went to Central Michigan last night. Go to wowk and see the footage. We need a big name coach and if we don’t get it then the the AD and Garrison need to goooooooooooooooo!

I actually think this is a good move, he’s a defensive guy and is able to run the spread office that flordia runs http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3162272

Call me crazy but I’m with Matt on this one, I think he will be a great coach for WVU. From what I know about him is that he is a great recruiter and is VERY familiar with running the spread. But what might be some of the down sides to this “maybe’ hire?

I live in central Florida, I am a die hard gator fan of more than 25 five years. Defiantly going to miss doc at Florida. But Doc and my father are very good friends I have followed doc career he is not just a defensive man either look what he did with the receivers at West Virginia and N.C. State. Doc will be a great coach. Doc recruited a lot of talented players out of my home town these guy now have college degrees and are back in town all thanks to Doc. I guess I’m a gator and a Mountaineer fan now. Go give them Hell Doc. See you at Lunker’s Sports Grille when you are back in Okeechobee, Florida

It sounds like Doc is a great recruiter for these Florida players but will he be able to bring these kids to Morgantown? Don’t get me wrong I have said Holiday or Jimbo should be our new coach but I’m just wondering what the down side might be. It sounds like a lot of people are kinda on the fence about it.

look for TB to make a strong push.. at first i wasnt real sure if he would be a good hire.. but i would hardly be surprised if TB is hired in the next few days.. we are losing recruits already..

mccalleb de-committed and is now verballed with Rutgers..

i would not be disappointed in hiring TB like i first thought, esp. if he can bring trickett back to morgantown..

TB is a winner and a great motivator..

regardless i will support any coach, but in my humblest of opinions, i feel like the AD is leaning towards terry

russdigga check your facts Terry B was a Terrible recruiter. When his talent rick Tigers graduated he was unable to recruit the best in the country. He started loosing and was going to be fired so he quit. Sound familiar yes it does because Rich just did it to you guys. If you want a great recruiting and a great motivator who can coach and will be a great coach then DOC HOLLIDAY is the only choice.

well considering everything i said about TB was based on my opinion.. i dont think i have to check my facts…

and regardless.. i have a strange feeling that jimbo is now the front runner for the job

TB is a great TV personality but a lot has change in the scheme of things in College Football ten years.I think you are right it’s going to be Jimbo’s Job. It is a better choice that TB, Doc turned down Marshall two years ago, it will be his day somewhere else but not in the State of West Virginia. Good news for Florida Football, I feel bad for Doc because the Politics cost him the job

Sorry Holliday fans, but he was unimpressive at NC ST. I think he would take the team back into the sorry Nehlen era. If the search committee can’t pony up for a big name with HC experience, and insist on going for an up & coming star, then I say Mike Locksley. I have waffled several times throughout this saga and had really hoped for Jimbo Fisher. I think all things considered, Locksley will take the team to new heights. One thing for sure…whomever they hire, if they do well,…look for Michigan to come sniffing when they boot Rod’s sorry, traitor butt out in a few years.
