MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia kicker-punter Pat McAfee has been selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the NFL draft.

McAfee was the second placekicker taken in the draft. Southern California’s David Buehler was picked by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round earlier Sunday.

McAfee handled kickoffs for the Mountaineers, made 17-of-20 field goals and averaged 44.7 yards on punts. He was named to The Associated Press all-America third team last season as a punter.

Former Colts punter Hunter Smith agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins. The only punter on the Colts roster, Mike Dragosavich, was claimed off waivers from Cleveland on Feb. 10.

Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, made 20-of-25 field goals last season.
