Friday Night Lights, WVU-Style

Devine's GrillApparently this game on Friday night is the biggest game to ever come to Tampa, even bigger than any Bucs game. They have sold out Raymond James Stadium, so this is big. (It would be like PITT selling out Heinz Field… as if that would ever happen) I’ve heard people are camped out to get the remaining tickets to this game. This is great news for the Big East and for our recruiting efforts in FL.

I’m starting to feel like we’re the Miami of the 90’s now. I remember camping for Miami tickets outside the coliseum when I was in school. Found this article about how the students in Tampa are fighting for tickets. They are even running from campus to campus to find tickets.

It’s great to be the bigdog and not the underdogs. I just hope we don’t go into Tampa with the bigdog attitude that Miami used too, because we will get upset like last year if we take this team for granted.

Which leads me to my question to y’all:

What is the #1 thing WVU has to do to secure a “W” in Tampa?

Turnovers are going to decide the game. The offense needs to hold on to the ball and the defense has to step up and make big plays…they need to jump the WR routes and strip the ball on run plays.

I don’t think this game is going to be as close as the experts say. Last year, we were caught a off guard by their talent, turned the ball over, and both White (turf toe) and Slaton (wrist) were banged up.

Not the case this year. The entire team is motivated and playing lights out. Both White and Slaton are healthy and rested; they will demoralize USF’s defense.

WVU makes a huge statement and climbs back up the rankings.
