ECU vs. WVU game time change

The Sept. 22 ECU/WVU kickoff time has changed from 3:30 pm to Noon. Apparently ESPN has decided to pick up the game. Another national TV appearance for the Mounties!
Personally, I don’t like this change. It’s going to really screw up my tailgate. Oh well, I’ll take national TV coverage any day.
ECU beat the North Carolina Tarheels last weekend and played well against Virginia Tech, so I guess they (ESPN) think ECU will give WVU a good game and one worth putting on the tube. The past two years ECU has given us a run for our money, so I’m looking forward to watching this game.
Actually, I think ECU is a team to watch in the next few years. Coach Holtz has really turned that program around. I would like to start hearing chatter about bringing ECU into the Big East. It would be nice to have a NC team in the conference, it would help with recruiting and also remind those ACC bung-holes that the Big East came out on top of the shuffle that went on a few years ago.

I agree, I know about 20 people coming in for this game and they were planning a huge tailgate. Now it will just have to be a huge post-tailgate. We’ll be up by 40 some points by the half anyway. I’ll be able to get my “pass out” and continue the tailgate at half time.

i agree, i am one of those 20 Bob spoke of. well it sounds like we’ll be having breakfast in a can (thats beer for all you Yanks).
As far as that “up by 40 points”, we’ll see. And for the record, WVU only gave us 1000 tickets, so don’t say anything about ECU fans not showing up. Students were not allowed any, just the Pirate Club.
I agree with the Big East pick up. I, and the whole Pirate Nation, was pissed when the Big East picked up South Florida over ECU. I mean they have had a team since 97, give me a break.
ECU has payed their dues. they have always been the scrub team that other teams put on their schedule to increase their record. Well you smell that boys, the winds are changing and that means lookout for the Pirates.

Noon games suck. Since the Big Ten is lacking this year ESPN needed a quality game to fill the slot.
Holtz has a leg up on how to stop the spread offense. The ECU defense kept Slaton bottled up last year, but they couldn’t stop White.
I look for it to be another tight matchup…a low scoring afair. It will be close in the first half and then WVU will pull away as the true heisman candidate, Pat White, takes over ala last year’s Gator Bowl performance.

Up by 40? Did you see the Maryland game? A performance like that against an ACC school. Wow MountaineerBob, did you not see the pirates d last year. If ecu’s offense shows up, it could be a barn burner.Sorry.
