Couchburner Ignites: What needs to happen this weekend!

Like Mountaineer Bob and so many other Mountaineer fans, it took me a few days to come to terms with the disappointment, and severe hangover that occurred in Pittsburgh last Friday.
That’s in the past, we must move on. I’m willing to try anything that would help prevent WVU from playing in the Meineke Bowl against a regional ACC opponent and prevent Notre Dame from getting a bowl bid. I’m a little tired of the Big East vs ACC matchups in bowl games, and Notre Dame taking a bowl bid away from the Big East, but that’s another post.
Here’s what has to happen.
Step 1: Rutgers vs Louisville. If Rutgers wins, that pretty much guarantees at least 6 bowl bids for the Big East (six teams with 7 or more wins) AND prevents Notre Dame from going to a bowl. By rule, Notre Dame is considered a Big East team and a bowl can’t take a 6-6 Notre Dame over another Big East team that is 7-5.
Step 2: Pittsburgh vs UConn. A UConn win equals a Pitt loss, which is always a good thing. Lastly, that gives WVU a shot a finishing ahead of Pitt in the conference, another good thing, and a better bowl bid…again, another good thing.
Step 3: South Florida vs West Virginia. A WVU win means that this year’s senior class will accomplish something last year’s senior class couldn’t…a final regular season home win…Pat White can conduct the band in another playing of the fight song…with a Pitt loss, WVU will finish second in the conference (see Step 2)…WVU will avoid a 3-game losing streak to the Bulls…AND WVU will be El Paso bound and will likely face Oregon State, thus avoiding Charlotte in late December.
I know this is a lot to ask for, but it makes college football exciting again.
LET’S GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!!

The best thing to happen this week: Notre Dame is keeping Charlie Fat Ass Weiss and PITT will now have to keep Wanny Stache. BWAHAHAHAHAHA
We’re happy too. WVU is keeping stewart!! HA HA HA HA HA
Well, Step 1 is off to a good start. Rutgers is pounding The Vill 48-0 at the half. F-U Notre Dame and Fat Ass Charlie!!!!
damn.. 56- 7 at the start of the 4th quarter… Where was this Rutgers team earlier in the season?
I’m glad we played Rutgers when we did…they’ve found their mojo.
BRING BACK THE SPREAD Eddie P! Hire Mark Yoho for WVU Offensive Coordinator
Well, in most instances two out of three is pretty good, but not in this case. The Eers are headed to the Meineke bowl and Pitt is going to El Paso. Let’s just hope that Pitt can present this year.
Thanks for the memories Pat White. The atmosphere last night at Mountaineer Field was pretty special. I’m glad I decided to brave the weather. We’ll be seeing you on sundays.
