…for a couple of great wins this weekend. Yes, it hurts to say that since you beat my ‘eers but unlike a lot of teams fans in the NCAA, Mountaineers have Pride.. win or lose. Now it’s time to make sure we handle USF (by the way that game has a 8pm kickoff!… nice)
That being said, I think that the Mountaineer Football program has some serious issues it needs to work out on the sideline and in the booth. Coach Stewart needs to realize he’s just not head coach material and step down. AD Pastilong needs to retire immediatly (and forget is last year) and we need to go on another Head Coach hunt. We really need to look at Jeff Mullen and see if can handle play calling.
Maybe we have someone in the organization that is ready to take control of this team, but it needs to happen fast.
Terry Bowden is still available… and I’m sure Rich Rodriguez wouldn’t mind hearing Country Roads again.

There are so many factors to all the trouble we are having. We need something before we head into a tailspin. We need to work out the problems one thing at a time. Taking on too much at one time will hurt us in the long run. Patience is key in handling this. I think most of us can agree that emotional decisions bite you in the ass, like or dislike Stewart, Mullen and crew. But, no matter how the season ends, Pat White will still go out a winner. That is one thing I agree on with Bill Stewart. Give them hell Saturday Pat.
Stewart and Mullen took what was supposed to be one of the top offenses in the nation and lost 4 games and all of the respect we had worked so hard to achieve. What is going to happen when they don’t have the talent we had this year? If they couldn’t do anything with this years offense they are hopeless. I know Stewart is a nice guy, but what we need is a good coach.
One thing is for sure, Pat White is not the right QB for the Mullen’s system, although most of us haven’t quite figured out what the Mullen’s system is.
So, if White isn’t a good fit, our disappointing record proves as much, then how good of a fit will Brown be next year? I’m predicting not much better. Maybe the coaching staff would be better off turning the offensive reigns over to their freshman QB recruit next year, whoever that may be. It couldn’t hurt.
So WVU is probably headed to the Meineke Bowl in Charolette to face UNC, Clemson, or Maryland, etc. If by chance the ‘Eers drop another one to USF this weekend, look out International Bowl. I say, if we lose this weekend, WVU should turn down their bowl bid. That would be the right thing to do.
I am now convinced after the comments you made about OUR HEAD COACH & AD that you are utterly clueless about football. I will never visit your site again & will delete my toolbar. YOU are a TOOL MOUNTAINEER BOB. We lost most of our offense & have all new offensive coaches. Pat White can’t do it all by himself. Ed Pastilong has done an amazing job at a small school with a small budget. If you can’t see any of those things – then you are an absolute moron. Get a life & talk about something that you understand ’cause football aint one of them!
Bro…..ain’t no way in sam hell Coach Stew will quit, neither w2ll Mullen, neither will Eddie P…..the players laid an egg, Pat White shoulda run more(I blame that on Mullen) Cincy deserved to be BCS reps because of there D. Let’s focused of their next recruits which feature Gino, Sted, Deon, Heastie, and hopefully Austin.

I find it hard to believe that there are still fans that cling to the hopes that Jeff Mullen and Gomer Pyle are still good coaches. Mullen stated in an interview earlier this year that he has never called plays in an offensive system—he was not an offensive coordinator at WF. He has no more of a system than any other joker sitting in the stands. Wild Bill is a great motivator and front man to love up to the Press but a head coach he is not. Do you not think that if he was really Head Coaching quality that he would have had an offer years ago —- other than VMI??? I mean really…its not like WVU has never made mistakes hiring someone. If we can’t win with one of the most dynamic backfields in the country what are we gonna do next year? What are we gonna do when we go 6-6 or 7-5 next year and the recruits start realizing that our days have passed?? To Rwhit, I sure hope you do remove yourself from every WVU fan site — because its fans like you that wanted Gomer Pyle as a coach, backed fast Eddie when he gave that dumbass a 6 million dollar buyout if we fire his sorry ass, and who think we actually have an offensive system that will bring us back to contention. With this staff our days of National Title Contention are in the rearview and shrinking quickly with nothing but a long downward spiralling road ahead. Goodbye Pat White —- its been my pleasure watching you and the former staff taking us into the National Spotlight — I wish you all the luck in your future endeavours. Hopefully I can say the same to some of these Coaches soon as well.

You’re right about one thing, Pat White can’t do it all himself. It all starts at the top and it’s been glaringly obvious that coach stew hasn’t job a very good job this year. Here’s a fact…Coach Stew is the special teams coach…fact…WVU ranks nearly dead last in special teams stats. You can’t blame that on Pat White or the new offensive line.
If you think that taking the best QB in Mountaineer history, heck maybe even Big East history, and turning him into an average joe with poor playing and poor game preparation is good football, then we don’t need your kind trolling the site.

I get upset with each WV loss, but every football team in the country wants to win. For every team with a winning season there is at least one with a losing season. WV does not have a large in state base to recruit. Pittsburg population is larger then WVs (for HS athletes it’s worse when looking at the age demographics). Bitching and moaning because Stew and company are not in the top ten this yearis unrealistic and certainly does not help the football prpgram.
