West Virginia knew they had to win this game in front of an ESPN Big Monday audience on Senior Night with Darris Nichols, Jamie Smalligan, and Teddy Talkington playing their final game at the WVU Coliseum.
In front of 13,960 fans, including a vocal jammed pack student contingent, the Mountaineers pounded Pittsburgh inside and out [...]

Students, if you’re reading this, you should be heading out to the Coliseum right now and waiting for hours to get that coveted lower-level seat. That area will be the best seat in the house as the West Virginia Mountaineers are in yet another MUST-WIN battle. This time it [...]

PITT vs. WVU
In Morgantown
Major implications….
A win: Helps us clinch a Tourney spot and possibly put PITT on the bubble.
A loss: Could put us on the outside looking in… again.
I hate that all of our big games come down to playing an overrated PITT but makes livin’ in Pittsburgh interesting.
My prediction. A WVU win by 12.

Joe Alexander scored a career-high 32 points for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Along with his 10 rebounds, Alexander arguably had one of the best individual performances a Mountaineer basketball player had in quite sometime. The same can’t be said for the rest of the team whose shoddy transition defense caused Husky point guard [...]

WIN AT UCONN! They have lost in Huskie territory all six times including one back in February 2000 when, [...]

The West Virginia Mountaineers from the very start were ready to play. After trading some baskets with the Blue Demons they embarked on a 22-0 run to catapult the Eers to a 33-9 lead. But you as a Mountie fan know how it is when the Eers are up too big too soon. [...]

It seems whenever West Virginia goes on a road trip we always point out that this is a huge game for the sought-after NCAA Tournament berth. Tonight’s game in the suburbs of Chi-town will determine whether West Virginia will be in the NCAA tournament or the Not Important Tournament. Simply put, West Virginia [...]

There is no doubt West Virginia women’s basketball team will be in the Big Dance as a possible 3rd or 4th seed plus a likely first-round bye in the Big East Tournament. The West Virginia men’s team are on a tournament bubble the size of big league chew.
Ever since the loss to Oklahoma, we Mountie [...]

The first half of the game showed the casual basketball fan what Big East Basketball is all about. Physical play up and down the court for 20 minutes. The two teams nearly came to blows a couple times. In the second half, a Wellington Smith spike jump started a 21-4 second half run to throw [...]
