Trevor Demko, a 6-foot-6 defensive end from Mount Carmel Area (Pa.) High School, has told West Virginia University’s football coaching staff he will be a part of the Mountaineers’ 2010 recruiting class.

Maryland-West Virginia just feels like a rivalry. It feels hot. Maybe it’s because West Virginia has been more successful than Virginia in football and poses a big challenge. I think it’s because both schools’ fans get amped up for each other. It doesn’t hurt that former standout tailback Steve Slaton vowed revenge for the Mountaineers after being rebuffed by Maryland, his original school of choice.

Sophomore Jonathan Baldwin was charged with misdemeanor indecent assault, summary harrassment and summary disorderly conduct stemming from an alleged incident involving a female student on a bus, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Sunday.
