Breaking news: LaQuita Owens suspended from the team

This just in to wvmountaineersports.com. Senior starting guard LaQuita Owens has been suspended from the women’s basketball team indefinitely by coach Mike Carey for violation of team rules. This is a crushing blow to the 13th ranked team as the regular season is winding down. Owens for the season averages 13.7 points a game and shoots a sizzling 41.4 percent behind the arc. Meg Bulger will take over Owens for starting duty. Bench players Liz Repella and Kelly Smith will need to step their game up in place of Owens. The effects of her loss will not be known until tomorrow when the Mountaineers play the Villanova Wildcats tomorrow afternoon at 4pm. I will do a preview for tomorrow’s men’s and women’s game tonight.

LOL…If I know for certain I’d mention it here. I’d say something BBall related like missing team practice or meeting. Depending on the severity of it she’ll either be back for Senior Day next Saturday or the Big East Tournament in 2 weeks.
