Big Questions of the Week… ECU Edition

Wrong Hannah (unfortunately)
These are the big questions of the week (in my mind):
1. Why was Pitt rated in the top 25 to begin with? Granted, I’m a Big East fan, and want all the Big East teams to have great records, but what was the thinking there?
2. How did Clemson stay in the top 25 in the coaches poll? Illinois? How does USC pass Georgia?
3. Any word on whether or not the ECU game will be delayed due to Hannah? I’m in Charleston, SC and we’re getting the heck out of Dodge.
4. Where are all the ECU blogs? I’ve been trying to contact one for a discussion, no luck… Leave me a note in the comments if you know of one.

I got your big answers:
1.Pitt was ranked top 25 because the media falls for the recruiting.
2. Clemson stayed in because they aren’t a big east team and the media loves them.USC passes Georgia because they were just waiting for an opportunity to do so.
3. Hannah will probably postpone the game.
4. ECU Blows and their students are redneck farmers who can’t type or even turn on a computer.
Just cause you can’t find them doesn’t mean they aren’t out there, moron.
You guys are serious wvu fan boys. I can’t wait to watch you guys take a beat down. This is the year of the Pirate.
I agree with Piratenation. I was born in WV and went to school (twice) at ECU. I bleed purple and gold. I have always backed up WV fans when those dumbass Penn state fans start bustin balls. so if you want to talk smack, aim it toward your neighbors to the northeast not south east. I bet morgantownhero goes to myrtle beach for vacation. who is the redneck now or maybe you went to panama city, ha. You will see Morgantownhero we are just a southern version of you guys. Mountaineerbob can attest to that.
PS. what you boys in WV scared of a little rain and wind.
What’s wrong with Myrtle Beach? They have some great all-you-can-eat seafood buffets.
Great win last week against VT. ECU had ‘em last year, but let it slip away. Skip Holtz is going to have his boys ready this weekend…but it’s still not going to be enough to slow down Pat White. It will be close, but the ‘Eers will prevail.
Well said couchburner. my point exactly. buffets, buffets, buffets. and btw aren’t all buffets “all you can eat” and you wonder why WV is top of the list for fattest states.
wait a minute…the saying in WV is “thank god for Mississippi.” I do believe they are the fattest state in the union.
You all got what you deserved with Bill Stewart as your head coach. Sign him to another extension. He set play calling back 5o years with tonight’s performance. If West Virginia played in a real conference they wouldn’t win 7 games and they may have a problem with that in the Big LEAST also!!! Let’s put Pat White behind center one more time on 3rd and 1 and see how many times in a row you’ll never make a 1st down!
Amen juice
I had my apprehensions when they named him so soon last year. They were just pissed at Rich and Bill was such “a nice guy”. Well he might be a good grandad but he sucks as a coach. It all falls back on him. The play calling tonight should have been different, 3rd downs sucked, time the f out with 4 seconds left?????? Why even call it then. You have to be so out of touch to let that go that long. You would have thought he would have corected things after ECU. Any coach who had the talent that he has and knows football would have had the ship sailing in the right direction for this game. Yea give him another extension. The thing that sucks is Pitt is gonna beat us 2 years in a row and it is not out of the question that we dont go to a bowl either. It is that bad. Did anyone notice the players at the end of the game? They didnt have a clue. That is the coaches fault if the team isnt prepared. They were not prepared for that situation. All those idiots that hired Stewart were smiling when ND beat Michigan. They could only wish RIch stayed. They need to get fired too. Jerkoffs
I think Stewart tried to portray himself as Nehlen Redux when he really was hoping to become WVU’s head coach following the departure of Coach Rod. Ironically, the best thing for WVU fans would have been to lose the big bowl game. That would have caused administration to remove the emotional element and view Stewart for what he really is. Stewart did the Nehlen routine-”Aw shucks, you know, golly jee, just happy to be here in the wonderful state of West Virginia”. But I know Don Nehlen. Don Nehlen was a fiend of mine. Stewart, you are no Don Nehlen.
Nehlen was a successful coach prior to becoming the Mountaineers coach. He proved himself at a lower level. Nehlen’s teams were always prepared. Stewart, on the other hand, was a failure. And he was TE coach. TIGHT ENDS COACH!!! WTF!!!
Let’s see: Against Villanova (barely a college team) WVU was terribly unprepared. When they played ECU, there was no discernible game plan and the play calling was horrible. Tonight (Colorado) the clock management at the end of the game was just about the worst ever observed above the high school level…and it was on national television!
During the bowl game in January, Stewart looked like a a child who was so excited to be on the sideline for the first time, coupled with the deer in the headlights look. Actually, he kind of reminded me of my 78 year old great Uncle Larry who lives and dies WVU football but thinks the cover 2 is layering multiple sweaters on himself on a cold February night in Fairmont. Tonight on the sideline Stewart looked more aloof than Bobby Bowden does at age 80 and would make John McCain look like a young man in comparison.
There’s no doubt that Stewart loves WVU. And I’m sure he’s a good man. But as a WVU fan he should know that he’s in over his head. If he truly loves WVU he ought to resign and tell the administration there is a much more qualified coach than him.
The only thing more idiotic than hiring Stewart was extending his contract. Is that where the Coach Rod settlement money was invested? Stewart must go. And the administration should be axed as well.
