WOW WOW WOW what a friggin’ great night of Big East Basketball. If you missed it, well lets just say, La-Hoo-Sa-Herr cause it was a great night to be a Mountaineer!
Anyway, we’ll get the boring game out of the way first. Louisville beat up on Providence. I mean beat up… 55-73. Louisville plays Villanova today. That should be decent match up.
Speaking of Villanova, they had a bit scare yesterday with Marquette. It seemed they had the game under control and had as much as a 17 point lead until the last few minutes when Marquette made a nice comeback took the lead with 1:40 left in the game. This game came down to the buzzer when Dwayne Anderson hit a layup as the clock ticked down to zero and gave Villanova a one point lead and the win 75-76. Great ending #1.
Enter the BackYard Brawl in the mighty Garden! Two Teams Enter, One Team Leaves! And that one team was the mother effing Mountaineers! WHOA!
I don’t need to tell you guys how awesome that game was last night. WVU just hung and then dominated with the 1-3-1 defense. PITT didn’t know what to do with it. If they (PITT) play like that in the tourney they won’t make it past the first round. BWAHAHAHAHA. By the way EBANKS is a stud and really showed how he’s coming into his own and will be the leader of the Mountaineers for the next couple of years. Great ending #2

If you didn’t stay up to watch the end of the Syracuse vs. UCONN game last night you missed what is sure to become a classic. The game ended around 1:30 in the morning after 6 OverTimes! I happened to see the last 4 minutes of regulation and was then hooked into one of the most entertaining college basketball games… ever. Great (never) ending #3.
WVU should be in a good position tonight playing a totally gassed Syracuse team. Big East Champs anyone?

“gassed” or not, you couldn’t handle the Orange in the regular season and you won’t be beating them in the garden either. This team didn’t fight their way through a 6 OT marathon with UConn to lose to your bunch. We’ll stil have plenty of game to send you back home. Have the buses warmed up and ready! You under-estimate this bunch. Foolish – very foolish!
Props to the ‘Cuse.. they played one hell of a game last night and all college basketball fans are damn proud, but they are going to be spent, simple as that. They will come out buzzin and then crash in the 2nd half. Vegas must think I’m right. WVU is a 6.5 point fav right now. Foolish or not I still think it will be a great game! I have to think 7 OT’s in 2 days has to take a toll – While I think L’ville has their weaknesses and the Orange have the inside-out presence to win the game, I think the fatigue factor will finally catch-up with the Orange tonight!! I’ll be pulling for WVU in the NCAAs though. BIG EAST is the premier conference! Best of luck to your team! They are a very, very good bunch with alot of heart!
so much for wishful thinking. Huggins and the boys were close. Ebanks is developing into a stud. Jones hasn’t been as effective in the last few games. He needs to get it going in the tournament.
I think the syracuse 2-3 defense will give Louisville some problems. But Louisville’s full court press could wear done the Orange. It should be a good game. The Big East Conference tourney has been awesome so far…i expect another great game tonight.
