BCS Week 2: USF 23, UCONN 25

I didn’t think we would see any Big East teams in the BCS this week, let alone two! Thankfully I was wrong.

I don’t think I will ever understand exactly how the damn BCS calculates their rankings. USF lost this week and dropped from #16 to #23. OK, that makes sense. Personally I was shocked to see they didn’t drop out, especially when you look at who has beat them.. PITT and Louisville. I mean come on USF get it together.

Then the big shocker. UCONN sneaks into the BCS at #25!?? WTF?

If you look at the two polls the BCS uses, The Harris Poll and the Coaches Poll, both have UCONN ranked #31. In fact both have WVU ranked above UCONN. Weird. Are we being screwed here? Personally, I don’t think we deserve a ranking yet and it’s probably a good thing that next week we will get to finally play a ranked team in their house and kick their ass!

I agree that we do not deserve a ranking yet, but look at the lower 20 – 25. Maryland is ranked ahead of us. In our week play condition we are better than Maryland.
