In honor of National Talk like a Pirate Day I thought it would appropriate to share a few rumblings from within the ECU Pirate Ship…or Pirate Nation as they call it.
The athletic director Terry Holland is dealing with some mutiny.
Head Coach Skip Holtz is bashing on the skaliwags:
“Though there were some nice individual performances, I don’t think anyone really played for four straight quarters. We came into the game wanting to start fast and we had our best offensive opening drive of the season. However, we drove down the field only to miss the field goal. Our focus was where it needed to be and the crowd helped out with that. I don’t think we handled the momentum swings in the game very well and in the second quarter, everything seemed to be against us. We regrouped at halftime and came out like gangbusters but again didn’t handle the momentum swings very well, especially the third down they converted to keep that drive alive at the end of the quarter. We need to be able to stop 3rd-and-15 if we want to get a win.
And threatening people with “shwabbing the deck duty”:
It’s time to start holding people accountable. We are in the midst of discussing some changes right now at a couple of positions. If we can’t create a winner three weeks in a row it’s time to ask if we are playing with the right people.
I hope they keep up this fight over the booty up while the Mountaineers are busy taking it on Saturday.

Pirate day? How bout Jive…
Sheeit, de East Carolina Butt Pirates visit Mo’gantown dis Saturday. Slap mah fro! De past codownles clashes provided some sdownrisin’ly close games. Has Skip Holtz figured out how t’stop, err ah’ mean slow de Mounty runnin’ game? ah’ dink once again de Butt Pirates gots’ta hold White/Slaton/Midget in check, but dey’ll git 2 big-ass runs and maybe some play acshun pass t’reynauld fo’ some long td t’boogie it jimmey and place some dagga’ in de chest uh One-Eyed Willie. What it is, Mama! Chunk. Right On! ah’ predict some Mounty win, 31-13.

Har… Jive day was two weeks ago at PITT when they played Grambling.
anyway, ECU won’t be able to stop the Devine attack WVU has planned. Me Mounties win in a convincin’ fashion, 47 - 14.

enough OK. not really sure what language yins are talking but its not pirate, Jive redneck maybe. One quick side-note for Ghostface its East Cackalac, or as we call it the emerald city or G-Vegas if you have been there for Halloween.
Its hard to talk smack looking at ECU’s and WVU’s records. but history has proven that ECU does give WVU a hard time and that was with player recuited two coaches before Skip was hired. do i think ECU will win, HELL YA. but it will be because we made the small one walk the plank and take a dive to Jones’ Locker. and i aint’ talkin about Pacman’s either

you have to give one thing to ECU we can tailgate like you guys can, because lets face it with a team like ECU (pre-Skip) what else was there to do. anyway see you ladies at the game.
