And They Keep Rolling In: Zach Hulce

Well it seems that WVU has the attention of the JUCO world. As of this moment if you haven’t heard, we have added a talent from Glendale AZ in the form of 5′10″ 200 lb running back Zach Hulce.
Just a break down for you on Hulce:
- He runs a 4.41 in the 40 yard (needless to say he’s fast) and he can be explosive when the situation calls for it.
- In his senior season of football at Rogers High School in Puyallup, Washington he ran for 1,182 yards on 163 carries, and had 14 scores to his credit. His longest run of those carries was 96 yards.
- Hulce also averaged out at the end of the 2005-2006 season at a very respectable 7.25 yards a carry.
- From what I have found out about this guy he also played linebacker during his prep years.
- During his sophomore year in Glendale, he was named to the All Western States Football League 2nd team as the Gauchos finished 6-4 overall.
- He carried the ball 202 times for 1101 yards and 8 scores.
- He averaged out at 5.5 yards a carry.
He easily adds depth to the running game at WVU, and could possibly switch to linebacker if he chooses with experience on the defensive side of the ball. We’ll see how it all pans out for Zach when summer practice and drills begin, and we would like to be among the first to welcome him to Mountaineer Nation.
