I watched that game! The Gayhawks scored TDs on 10 consecutive drives. Totally insane. Their D is still a little weak, let a has-been team with a backup QB put up 30+…the Mizzou game should be an absoulte shootout. I can’t figure out how they’re #4 in the BCS with their schedule. Total BS.

I didnt even know West Virgina was still a sate. Go mine some coal (which you cant even seem to do right). Also Joepa is a legend with more wins than only one other coach in the history of D1 football. Who is your coach? Next, he is an highly accomplished and highly regarded MAN, who no matter what you idiots say will always be remembered that way. He has contributed more to the Penn State Family of alumni, students, and faculty than any group could have. He has a library named after him becasue he ponied up 6million of his own bucks and also helped raise anohter 30 or so million. He also managed to raise a giant family who is just as awesome and amazing as he is. So yea you can take shots at him but when your 80 years old lets see what you have accomplished. If you didnt know, he has also managed to put together over 370 wins, 2 national titles 2 big ten titles and 5 undefeated seasons. One more thing… West Virgina SUCKS.

I live in PA and have a degree from PSU and eveyone here knows it. Thank God PSU doesn’t have a real coach or they may have as many NC’s as Notre Dame. C’mon you guys. If you made fun of your coach accepting another job and then renigging, then I have no problem with your song about Joe. But, if not…I find very little that is humorous about making fun of someone who has been around football as long as Joe has. Trust me, I wish for the days when we used to play the Big East schedule before it became a league. It’s not Joe’s fault the Big 10 wanted PSU and not WVU, Maryland, ‘Cuse or any of your half-stepping schools. Enjoy your success in the Big Least and leave Joe alone. He’ll be gone soon enough.

My dad brought me up a diehard PSU fan, however I tried to rebel and pick a school for myself. I decided between #1 Norwich (military school in VT), #2 WVU, and #3 PSU. I was accepted into all 3 and visited all 3 (though, I only got into a PSU branch, but got into Morgantown campus of WVU). By far, the better SCHOOL is PSU. I love WVU, heck I wore a WVU tshirt to classes yesterday here in Happy Valley (I got to University Park after 1 year at a branch). Presently, WVU has the better football record. We don’t play each other, and probably won’t, so we really can’t say who is the best team. I was hoping so badly that it would’ve been a WVU vs. PSU BCS Championship game this year, it would’ve been amazing! However both choked (1 more than the other so far).

I enjoyed that lil song, it was comical. I agree that Joe is old, but he still knows what he’s doing and to be honest, he should be there as long as he wants. Coach Rod is AMAZING! I went to WVU football camp and the man is a football genious. I’m glad he’s the coach there; he’s got WVU on track. Now, I could debate Big Ten vs. Big East, but I won’t. I just think WVU needs to join the Big Ten or we need to work out a contract to play a few years. I think it’d be a very entertaining game.

But please, I love WVU and it just wasn’t that great of an academic university for me (and like riding the PRT’s from the Towers to Downtown would’ve sucked every day!)… Who cares, we don’t play, so let’s leave it at that… 2 schools that had a tradition (like us and PITT too) that was a thing of the past. GO WVU!! GO PSU!!

As for Dale and Ed, you two have obviously never been to Altoona or in Quaker Country in Pennsylvania. Just as hickish and backwooded there boys.

And as for rjp I recieved my undergrad @ WVU. Regardless of the bias bullshit you read in US News and World Report, WVU isn’t that far off. It has one of the Nation’s finest Neurology, Forensic Scinece, and Engineering programs. WVU also has 25 Rhodes Scholars more than any Big Televen school besides Wisconsin.

What WVU lacks is major research graduate programs. I recieved my masters from Ohio St. It’s not that different academically wise. I’m currently in Houston TX in the oil and gas industry doing quite well for you stereotypes out there.

That NEVER gets old. So anyway.. Let me start by saying that song is very funny and I enjoyed it a lot. Truly. I am able to laugh at myself and tons of other things like abortions, dead puppies, ect…. you get the picture. Please be realistic though. The Big East isn’t half as good as the Big 10 and if we would have went there, we would have finished in front of WVU most of the time. You just keep pluggin out the backyard brawl like it is some monster game and winning in your major conference. We’ll keep doing what we do and when Joe finally loses all control of his bladder, he’ll retire and we will continue to keep on keepin on (Joe Dirt). At the end of the day we all know how WVU has done against us. We will continue to have a bigger, better program. Not to mention we will continue to recruit better. I have no idea why people think Joe can’t recruit anymore but do some research before making that statement and you will see. If I remember correctly, a former PSU football player was recently convicted of murder and is now in prison…we’ve had to endure the saga of the PSU football fight club that enjoys getting into bar fights…and your running back being accused of rape…PSU, as with many other major universities, has their fair share of thugs…the punishment for the PSU Fight Club brawls is…cleaning the fuckin’ stadium…WOW! Obviously not or you would know that EVERY big program schedules cupcakes. The little schools are willing to travel for a beat down because they get paid. The big schools make money on home games and get some warm up games for their conference schedule. It is simple. As for Notre Dame… When we put them on the schedule we didn’t know they were going to have a terrible year. According to the football world the great Charlie Weis was supposed to have them back at the top so despite their record, lets leave them out of the discussion. They did kill us last year with a really good team. Have you seen your schedule lately?? Not exactly top notch. Let me guess what you’ll say… “Uconn and Cincy are ranked dude!!!” (fart noise!!!!!) They stink. They had an okay year with a garbage schedule as well. WVU schedule is weak. The conference may be up in rankings this year but it is weak, as it has been, and always will be for a long time. Now for living in the past. Every year teams get ranked and projected based on the last year. Isn’t that living in the past?? You should propose a plan to change that. Maybe you can become the forth guy on Gameday. Your nickname can be retard and Mr potatoe head can throw pencils at you when you try to talk. It will be great. I just looked through your schedule and results since 2002 and realized you played a Big 10 team only 2 times since then and lost both. I can see why someone would bring up the Georgia win. It was impressive….. However….. it is the only big win you have had in the last 6 years… and before you jump off the couch, nobody wants to hear how you beat Rutgers a few times. We know!!! They had a good year last year. Congrats. Is there a reason that Chattanooga hasn’t been on the schedule since 2002? I hear they are really coming along.

You traditional fans really hate it when an up and comer kicks the door in and crashes your party. This year and last year has proven that there is so much more parity in Div 1A FB. And as for the Big 10/11 is pathetic such as Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue, Mich. St, Iowa, and Minnesota(who lost to 2 1aa squads and only win against mac school Miami of Ohio)WVU would be no worse than .500 and would finish in the top 3 in recent years.

I think when you go to sleep tonight you will not that you only said that to try and hurt us and it wasn’t true. and you know it wasn’t true.. so you may end up feeling bad. You should do some research before you say things like that. Another thing in football that matters now is money. We are big enough to pick and choose who we want to play. I promise a game between us would mean more to WVU than us. Which is exactly why we would have to be given a ridiculous deal to consider it. Just ask Pitt. Yes I would love see a PSU/WVU matchup. Would be great for both schools. Problem is that the only way that would happen right now is for Penn State to actually get to a BCS bowl. Not happening anytime soon, sorry.

When you finally get rid of Joe Pa or he dies and the Big East reluctantly accepts PSU’s request to be in the league, then we could play every year and KICK YOUR ASS every year. If you hate wvu so much get off my site.

Now tell me about the power house teams in the big east. We’ll see how the bowl results come in this year. I hope it goes well for your guys.

We are 8-3 this year and lost to 3 good teams. If our coaching staff weren’t such conservative dopes we would probably would have won at least 2 of them.

Dude, you can’t be serious. The Big Least is undoubtedly the most pathetic conference around. When’s the last time a Big East team beat anyone remotely decent outside of its conference? Every single year, WVU gets a top 10 ranking and every single year they lose to some other terribly overrated Big East team. They can never live up to “expectations” (even though no sane person would ever actually expect them to be an elite team. Every year, it’s the same shit. Sounds like Notre Dame. Why don’t you go lose to South Florida again, or maybe UConn in a few weeks, the elite powerhouses of college football. This is probably the biggest down year for the big 10 in a long long time, and there is still no doubt that it blows the big east away.

By the way, Joepa is 2 years removed from being coach of the year. When was Rich Rodriguez’s last coach of the year honor? Wake up and smell reality: Joepa is better than Rodriguez, the Big 10 is better than the Big East (even this year), and you’re only attacking Penn State because you’re jealous of everything about it. I only point out PSU’s legal troubles cause some dillhole brought up Chris Henry and PacMan. People who live in glass houses…you know the rest.

Wake up and smell reality you say…try winning a game against a team from Michigan and then we’ll talk. PSU got OWNED again. Enjoy the Alamo Bowl, although you don’t deserve it.

Not only are you living in the past with Joepa, you’re also living in the past with the Big East. The mark of a good conference is BALANCE…something the Ohio State Conference doesn’t have. The Big East has balance.

Everyone’s talking about how it would be good if PSU and WVU played this year in a bowl. Good for whom? Not WVU. Definitely Penn State because we’d be only the second top team you’ve played this year.

The best opportunity for PSU and WVU to have played each other was two years ago. A WVU/PSU Orange Bowl would’ve been awesome…Pat White, Steve Stalton vs Tamba Hali, Paul Pudlusni (sp??) etc. The Orange Bowl victory over a decent-at-best Florida St is the only thing PSU has done in the last 7-8 years. So its the disillusioned Penn Staters with nothing else to do but troll a WVU Mountaineers blog that need to keep dreaming.

I really wish PSU could play the old schedule, before the Big Ten: Pitt, WVU, The Orange, BC, Temple, Pitt, Pitt, Pitt……you know, the week before Thanksgiving….cold with snow flurries and maybe TV, but never at night. This is great. I grew up living Penn State Football in Happy Valley and ever since I can remember they havn’t been that great. I’m a girl and I’m young, but don’t get me wrong I still know more about college football then most of the guys my age. Everyone I’ve talked to knows that Joe must go, but whose gonna do anything about it? If blowing a 17 point lead doesn’t say anything to the university about our current head coach then I don’t know what will. I have nothing against WVU fans and I think this song is hilarious, but there is a lot to be said about the past, and clearly a match up between WVU and Penn State was almost always in Penn State’s favor. If anything could be added to this song, I would have to say Ja Paterno…I think a D1 quarter back coach should have played past high school.

first off…why are you all bashing each other? honestly, we each should be happy if a team from our region of the U.S. is doing well and may, in fact, play in the National Championship, or in any bowl game. I am a student at WVU, and of course when we play Pitt or when we did play Penn State we obviously weren’t cheering for the other team. But half of the stuff I’m reading up here is a bunch of b/s. I completely agree w/ psu fan forever. I am a girl too and I live about 2 hours from Happy Valley and my family has season tix. I just about eat, sleep, and breathe PSU football and I school the kids in my grade about PSU. seriously. PSU has basically been pretty crappy since I was born w/ the exception of the 94 Rose Bowl and the 2005 Orange Bowl. I must say the Big East is one big Cream Puff schedule just like the 94 Nebraska team, except the Big East is like this every year w/ the exception of one team. by the way……….hey WVU……..PITT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and back in the day, the PSU/WVU rivalry almost always 98% of the time worked out in PSU’s return, and if PSU competed in the Big East which traditionally they should have, the would have the Big East championship every year and there would be no rivalry b/c Big East is a big cream puff. no offense to WVU fans at all, I’ve always rooted for Bednarik him being from PA. Second, don’t ever for one second think that PSU playing WVU has any benefits for us. Even if you are ranked in the top ten. WVU would be the only one to get something out of that deal. If there was something in it for us, WE WOULD HAVE DONE IT BY NOW. Like I said before, just ask Pitt.

Third, balance in the Big East? Just about EVERY conference has balance these days. Some years are better than others. It flucuates, but it’s a fact that the Big East is probably the 4th or 5th best conference. Consistantly, the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, and sometimes even the ACC are better. You can lie to yourself and say that isn’t true but IT IS. The only people who think different are Big East teams, fans, and Mark May. He’s a complete douche so he doesn’t really count anyway.

Fourth. Couch, why would you ask what PSU has done the last 7-8 years. Wouldn’t that be living in the past?? What have you guys done? Come up with something beside the Georgia win. I’ll go back two years so Im not stuck TOO far in the past. 2005 and 2006 we had great years. If we didn’t have an ancient coaching staff and game plan, we would be in the final game this year. Trust me, nobody is more disgusted than the true PSU faithful about our current situation. We deserve to lose the games we do because of JOE, his stupid sone, and that asshole Graham Spanier who doesn’t have the fucking balls to ask him to step aside. Not down completely, just to the side. He get the courage once the donations start to dwindle. You guys should take your own advice on living in glass houses. You’ve been talking about that Georgia win for sometime now.

And finally, WVU got OWNED!!!!! by PITT!!! BWahahahahah. You can act like your happy with the BCS bid but deep down inside it just won’t be the same as that trip to New Orleans. For the next 5 years when you fade back in to the middle of the pack of a sub par conference, you’ll be taling about a win, if you can even pull it off, against a decent at best OU team. Not really. Just bored at work and decided to explain once again that we want Joe to go more than anyone so we can start to use the talent we have a get back in the picture for more than a year or two here and there. And also how the Big East just isn’t what you guys wish it was. Please stop using the Alamo Bowl like I care. here are some fun facts for you WVU fans to put into perspective the patheticness of your schedule….

Since 2002, the number of games faced against top 15 teams:
PSU 13
WV 7

Now, while that shows the big picture of the past 6 years, let’s focus more on the last 2 years since that’s when the big east became completely pathetic with VT and Miami leaving:
PSU 4
WV 2

Games against top 5 teams in the past 2 years:
PSU 4
WV 1

Now, I realize that Penn State has not faired well in these games against top opponents in the past 2 years. Believe me, I know; however, this puts into perspective just how easy WVU’s schedule is….but let’s go further…

You would think that with such an easy conference schedule, WVU would go out and schedule quality out of conference opponents to try to at least convey some sort of quality win(s). lets compare WVU’s and PSU’s quality out of conference schedules since 2002:

WVU: Boston College, Wisconsin (and no, Maryland does not count as a quality team)
PSU: Notre Dame, Boston College, Nebraska, Virginia

We cancel out Boston College and are left with WVU against Wisconsin and Penn State against Notre Dame, Virginia, and Nebraska. No further explanation is needed to show what team tries to schedule quality opponents and what team tries to just get the easy wins.

So, in conclusion, we Penn State fans realize that we haven’t been up to par the past few years (not including 2005, when we were dominant). We realize we’ve struggled against difficult teams, and we’ve accepted it. On the other hand, there is WVU who goes 10-2 against an extremely easy schedule and acts like they’re god’s gift to the world. Why not play against a high school for all 12 games, because then you’d (probably) be 12-0. You might as well…you’re basically already at that level.

And by the way, how fitting that WVU loses to lowly and pathetic Pitt to once again fail to live up to expectations, not make it to the championship game, and prove again that they’re always an overrated team. Good work.
